Digital certification/signature of a document (Ψηφιακή βεβαίωση εγγράφου) is a modern and legally significant procedure that ensures the fast and convenient official certification (signature) of a document in electronic format.

In order to sign a document in electronic format, it is necessary to:

  • Have access to web banking or an account in the Taxisnet system;

  • Register in the National Communications Registry (Εθνικό Μητρώο Επικοινωνίας (ΕΜΕπ)) and verify the mobile phone number;

  • Have a mobile device with you, to which the confirmation code will be sent;

  • Upload the document that needs to be electronically signed in PDF format.

When signing the document, you will be given the option to display the signature in Greek or English. If you choose English, your first and last name will be automatically displayed in Latin characters.

DIGITAL DOCUMENT CERTIFICATION/SIGNATURE

Digital certification/signature of a document includes a unique identification number for document verification, which is displayed in alphanumeric form and as a QR code.

It is important to note that the document can be signed electronically by one or more individuals. For example, in the case of private contracts, the document can be certified sequentially by each of the parties involved in the agreement.
